Canyamel Golf

In the north east of Mallorca, this par-73 course is one of the most charming golf courses on the island. Created by architect José Gancedo in 1988, the course – measuring 6185 metres (6800 yards) – has an added attraction with the resident wildlife.

When you play at Canyamel, it is very likely that you will cross paths with live turtles, rabbits, rare birds and plenty of other animals during the round as the course was declared a nature reserve in 1991.

Away from the wildlife, there are some memorable features as golfers play past a rustic stone house in the middle of the ninth fairway and another 300-year-old house on the 12th hole.

There are also some stunning sea views at times with the neighbouring island of Menorca visible from the fifth hole, while the three tier piano-shaped 18th green is a spectacular finish to the round.

It’s a course that carries real peace and tranquillity but the fast, true and undulating greens ensure it’s an exciting and memorable place to play.
